Tomas Slavik was taking a part in City Downhill in Bratislava (SVK) as a pilot event for upcoming City Downhill World Cup series. After a technical during the trainings Slavik had to take his hardtail and battle with fastest DH riders, who are racing City Downhills properly. Track had pure DH character with very small amount of pedal section, it was really rough and huge! Thats why it was such a big suprise and shock for riders and spectators to see Slavik winning quali on a hardtail. It made the racing really exciting! Unfortunaly Slavik slipped in first turn during his final run and lost some time. Even though he was pushing it hard on the limit he wasnt able to take anything better than 4th place.

"After doing the track walk I really didnt have a good feeling about the track and I knew its gonna be really difficult to ride. During the training I made all my lines I wanted to and I was stoked. Unfortunaly in last training run I had technical and had to ride my hardtail! People and riders thought its a joke and I can not even ride down the track. Well, maybe thats why all the people were so suprised after winning a quali. It was just awesome feeling you know. I was really looking forward to the final, really wanted to win but slipped in first turn and It was all over. Anyway, 4th place is really good result for me and Im having a good feeling out of my performance in Bratislava.."

It was one of the first races of this kind where was Slavik taking part and everybody could recognize it fits him. Are we going to see Slavik at first races of City Downhill World Cup on February in South America? Stay tuned
