the story of TOMÁŠ SLAVÍK
Tomáš Slavík is one of the most successful riders in four-cross history and a leading icon of the global urban downhill scene. He belongs to that elite group of athletes who have transcended the boundaries of their sport to become a household name for fans worldwide.
His name has long been synonymous with victory, raw speed, and an aggressive yet surgically technical riding style. It is this unique blend of discipline, relentless training, and a magnetic personality that has made him one of the most respected figures in racing and a massive fan favorite at events across the globe.

Family & bmx roots
Born near Brno, Tomáš’s entry into the world of two wheels was through BMX. He got his first bike at the age of five for a simple reason: his mother was looking for a way to channel the energy of a hyperactive kid and, quite frankly, "wear him out." It turned out to be a life-defining move. Tomáš fell for BMX instantly, quickly immersing himself in the sport and collecting his first trophies as a young boy.
It was here—on tracks filled with dirt, dust, massive jumps, and berms—that the foundation of his future dominance was built. BMX gave him his explosive starts, split-second decision-making, perfect weight distribution, and most importantly: the ability to ride on pure instinct.

From the very beginning, the unwavering support of his mother was the cornerstone of his success. Her dedication allowed him to commit to racing without compromise, investing in bikes, travel, and competitions. As Tomáš noted in an interview for his sponsor, Ghost: "This isn't just my career; this is my life. My mom's support was simply the most important thing. Without her, I wouldn't be at this level. Her influence was a massive deal." It was this foundation that gave him the space to grow into a world-class athlete with extraordinary endurance, humility, and the drive to stay at the top.
FOUR-CROSS: BORN FOR THE ELITE
The transition to fourcross was a natural step. As early as 2004, Tomáš Slavík was already among the very best in the junior ranks, and it quickly became clear he wouldn’t remain just another young talent for long. As Michal Maroši likes to recall, “he was a cheeky little kid with attitude.”

It was with Maroši that his path took a decisive turn in 2009, when Tomáš signed his first professional contract with Team RSP — three letters that still stand for a legendary team and an era fourcross hasn’t forgotten. Wherever Team RSP showed up, it meant a show: aggressive riding, absolute dominance, and performances pushed to the very edge — both on track and off it. It’s fair to say that this was the beginning of a world-class era. The era in which Tomáš Slavík established himself among the most dominant riders of his generation.

URBAN DOWNHILL: the fastest rider
Urban downhill opened an entirely new chapter. Tomáš Slavík entered the world of city downhill and the Red Bull Cerro Abajo series as an experienced fourcross rider. Races running through historic city centers, narrow streets, staircases, and jumps over the heads of thousands of spectators weren’t just a change of setting — they were a completely new kind of challenge.
Suddenly, it was a race where he was alone on the course, racing only against the clock. Urban downhill demands absolute focus, courage, and the ability to deliver maximum performance in a single run — with no room for mistakes. Qualifying. Finals. Done.
And it suited him perfectly. Fast starts, precise line choice, complete fearlessness on track, and the ability to push incredible power through the flatter sections.

The breakthrough came in 2017 with his first victory — taking gold at a Red Bull Cerro Abajo round in Valparaíso, Chile. On one of the most demanding and iconic courses of the entire series, he proved he hadn’t entered urban downhill just to try it out.
That win immediately placed him among the world’s elite and opened the door to further triumphs across Latin America. Today, he holds seven victories in the Red Bull Cerro Abajo, across all its major destinations, making him one of the most successful riders in the history of urban downhill.
The same applies on the home scene, where he wins repeatedly in Czech urban downhill — quite literally too many times to count.

His racing dominance wasn’t stopped even by a terrifying crash in Valparaíso in 2019. At high speed, he lost control in an extremely demanding staircase section, followed by a heavy impact and a long fall down the course. Footage of the crash went viral worldwide — and it’s still chilling to watch today.

It could be said that this crash became a defining moment, testing one of the most important abilities: getting back to the start, going all in again, and taking the risk once more. And without a doubt, that has become one of Tomáš Slavík’s trademarks — exceptional physical and mental resilience, combined with a disciplined and highly responsible approach to preparation. Perhaps it’s this resilience that makes him a crowd favorite.
Today, alongside his racing career, he also works as a supervisor and coach within urban downhill projects. He is involved in course design, consulting race locations, and developing riders — actively shaping the discipline and remaining an integral part of it. Just like in fourcross, urban downhill is a space he continues to push forward.
Versatility
Tomáš Slavík’s success goes far beyond urban downhill and fourcross. His versatility was fully proven on the Crankworx World Tour. In 2016, he claimed the King of Crankworx title — the overall victory across disciplines and stops of the entire tour.
That it was no one-off result became clear again in 2021, when he won the Dual Slalom race at Crankworx Innsbruck. His success at Crankworx highlights one of his greatest strengths: the ability to adapt — combined with technical excellence and a position among the most complete riders of his generation.

other projects: JBC 4X REVELATIONS, carp fishing And REALITY SHOW
While his racing career alone could fill a lifetime, Tomáš Slavík doesn’t stop there. He builds his own projects with a strong impact beyond racing. He is the organizer and driving force behind JBC 4X Revelations — a UCI-level fourcross event that has become one of the most popular stops on the global circuit. Each year, it attracts tens of thousands of spectators and brings together some of the biggest names in the sport.
The race is known not only for its demanding track and wild afterparties. Slavík has built an exceptional team around him, thanks to which the event runs with precision and has become a benchmark for others. Members of the Revelations crew are often sought after by other organizers — from track builders and core crew to photographers. The event has also become an important platform for community growth and the development of young riders.
The entire project reflects his ability to build with long-term vision — and his commitment to giving energy back to the bike community.

And here’s something unexpected — outside of cycling, Tomáš Slavík is also a world champion in carp fishing. Yes, really — carp fishing. Together with Petr Korbička, known as “Korbec,” they form the duo Carp Riders. They’ve built a strong fanbase not only through results in international competitions, but also thanks to their distinctive humor and content that brings the world of carp fishing closer to a wider audience.

And one last twist. In 2026, Slavík stepped into a completely different challenge — appearing in the TV reality show Asia Express. Paired with Olympic kayaker Vavřinec Hradilek, the duo quickly became fan favorites, showing the mindset of elite athletes far beyond the race course.
The show introduced his personality to a broader audience — authentic, resilient, team-oriented, and capable of performing under extreme conditions without comfort or certainty. Thanks to this, he has become a popular figure even beyond the core sports community.
